Bakugan Balls

Bakugan has become one of the hottest games for preteen children. Adults, then, shouldn’t be surprised when their children request Bakugan balls for holidays and birthdays.

Bakugan balls are marble-like spheres that hide characters from the poplar Japanese animated Bakugan TV show. When these balls are thrown, they pop open, revealing the characters – in classic fighting poses – hidden inside.

The Bakugan balls are one of the main components of the strategy game. The other essential pieces of equipment for the game are the metal cards that depict various characters from the television show.

Bakugan is fairly simple to play. Children first lay down their metal character cards on a flat surface such as the top of a table. Next, they throw out their Bakugan balls. When these land on an appropriate card, they burst open, revealing the character inside.

If two Bakugan balls land on the same card, a simulated battle takes place. The winner of this battle claims the card.

The good news for parents is that Bakugan balls and playing cards are relatively inexpensive. Parents can purchase starter kits for their children: These include three Bakugan balls and three playing cards. This is all the equipment children need to get started with the game.

Of course, there is a downside. Much like Pokemon and other trading-card games, children will quickly request a greater number of Bakugan balls and character cards. Parents can purchase booster packs and battle packs that provide additional Bakugan balls and character cards.

The game also offers a host of additional equipment. A special launcher can send Bakugan balls forcefully into battle. A Bakugan arena, also available for purchase, can provide the perfect home base for battles.

None of this additional equipment is needed to play the game. But be warned that children quickly become addicted to Bakugan. They’ll want as much extra accessories as parents are willing to buy.

Now that you know the basics of Bakugan balls and the strategy game for which they are used, you don’t have to feel so out of touch next time your son or daughter drags you to the toy store.
